How to do it

  1. 1

Print the sheet and choose your patch of outdoors.

  2. 2

Tick or draw each shape as you find it.

  3. 3

Collect two or three natural treasures to sort at home.

  4. 4

Lay them out and describe what you notice.

Make it easier

Look for three shapes only, and photograph instead of drawing.

Make it harder

Sort finds by number of sides and record a tally.

Try it differently

Do the whole hunt as a race, or swap the woods for a high street.
