How to do it

  1. 1

    Estimate the weight of five kitchen items, then weigh them.

  2. 2

    Pour water to hit target amounts in the jug.

  3. 3

    Take the printed recipe and halve it, then double it.

  4. 4

    Cook the version you chose.

Make it easier

Stick to whole numbers and use cups rather than grams.

Make it harder

Scale the recipe for seven people and convert to ounces.

Try it differently

Do it as a shop: price each ingredient and total the basket.
