Make a Volcano
The classic for a reason. Build the cone from papier-mâché or clay, then run the eruption twice — once for joy, once to test what changes the reaction.

How to do it

Build a cone around a small bottle or cup.

Add bicarbonate of soda and a squirt of washing-up liquid.

Pour in vinegar and stand back.

Repeat with a different amount and compare.

Skip the building and erupt in a cup on a tray.
Make it harder
Measure quantities and record eruption height as data.
Try it differently
Take it outside and build a mountain range in the mud.
