How to do it

  1. 1

    Roll long sausages of dough.

  2. 2

    Form the letter in the child's name first.

  3. 3

    Say the sound as you shape it.

  4. 4

    Trace the finished letter with a finger.

Make it easier

Start with straight-line letters only.

Make it harder

Build whole CVC words and read them back.

Try it differently

Use sand, shaving foam or sticks outdoors.
